it just hit me that 'summer' as i know it may be over. what used to be a three to four month break from the standard school year is now just a couple of potentially sunnier months within which i am working forty hours a week as well as trying to accomplish a lengthy extra-curricular to-do list. i've developed a sort of post-college anxiety that everything i've learned in the last however many years, as well as the skills to learn, will slowly begin to leak out of my head, and am trying to prevent this knowledge drain by reading seven books at once while simultaneously fixing my bike, putting postage on eleven postcards to various pen pals, and listening to french instructional tapes. oh, and hang out with my friends. is this what being grown up is all about? anyhow, here is a list of my current 'summer' goals. amendments will undoubtedly be made.
1. play more guitar
2. fix bike before it falls apart completely (new gears? new chain? new brakes? heck, maybe i should just abandon this death trap and buy something less likely to kill me)
3. READ. fiction, non-fiction, repeat. including, but not limited to:

4. send lots of snail mail
5. make a legit messenger bag (updates to come)
6. keep my dad's tomato plants alive
7. make a legitimate item of clothing on a regular basis
8. save money
9. keep up on my french
10. keep up with this blog
i do this every summer; make an overly ambitious list of things i want to accomplish, but maybe this summer it's possible, as there's no end date, no fall registration to mark the end of my days of freedom. check back.
