playing house: etched jars

i've wanted to do this project for a long time but have always found jars this size to be too expensive. i stumbled upon these for cheap at fred meyer and they turned out just as i had imagined:




at some point i'm going to put the french words for sugar, rice, and flour on an adjacent side, and then choose three other potential jar-filler-words and their french counterparts for the facing sides. these sit above our kitchen sink. i like them a lot.

note to tim: yes, a pattern for your jacket can be found. we'll get on it when you get back to the states.

i cried: twice

last night barack obama was elected president of the united states and portland was hyped. john, molly, mark and i celebrated at north 45 on 21st wherein we joined a celebratory crowd for a viewing of obama's speech. shots of whiskey were had, champagne bottles were popped, and i was escorted home and put to bed in my party dress before 11pm. change is here.
